Kevin Okun is described as a very handsome man, and that he was the steward of the jet the Flock boarded to fly to DC in The Final Warning. He had asked Max and Nudge what sodas they would like, and Max ordered a "Diet Coke in which it was still in a sealed can". Nudge wanted Barq's (a type of root beer she had in New Orleans), but there was none, so Nudge asked Max if Jolt was okay when Kevin protested it had a lot of caffeine in it. Max had replied, "Yeah, because after everything we'd been through, we're worried about your caffeine intake."

- In the dedication section towards the beginning of one version of Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports, James Patterson thanks two people named "Kelly and Kevin Okun". Whether or not this is merely a reference to the character Kevin Okun is unknown.
