M-Geeks, also referred to as Dumb-bots and the New Threat, were ninja-like cyborg soldiers appearing in MAX. Their name is short for "Machine Geeks," a nickname given to them by Max. They served Mr. Chu.
History[]
MAX[]
A group of at least sixty rappelled over the side of a stadium and attacked the Flock during their air show in Mexico City. The Flock was victorious.
Later that night, as Max flew, another group of M-Geeks shot her in the right wing and took her to Mr. Chu. They continued to plague the Flock throughout the book.
Appearance[]
The M-Geeks were slim, dark figures, compared to ninjas. They usually wore hoods that covered their faces. Their faces were human-like, except for their glowing green laser-like eyes.
They were robots with some flesh grown over their frames, similar to Flyboys. They rarely spoke. When one did speak, it was in "a telephone operator's static voice."
Although they seemed mostly robotic in nature, and there was no hint that they had human brains beforehand, Angel was able to mentally control them. She informs Max, "I just asked them to go away . . . They said okay."
Abilities[]
They were stronger and faster than humans.
Weaknesses[]
If struck on top of their heads, their heads would split open "like a sectioned orange" into metallic strips. Their ankles were also weak, snapping easily when struck.
Trivia[]
- Max compared them to the Erasers, Flyboys, and Transformer-bots. They are particularly similar to the Flyboys, being robots with skin grown over their surface, and having significant design flaws.
